“The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely.”

About Me

I am a registered associate marriage and family therapist based in Orange County serving all residents of California. I provide both in-person and online therapy. My therapeutic focus is LGBTQ+ affirming care, non-traditional relationships such as ethical non-monogamy and polyamory, working with the BDSM & kink community, gender identity issues, relationship issues, integration of psychedelic experiences, anxiety, and parents processing LGBTQ+ children coming out. My approach to therapy is non-pathologizing and client-centered; meaning I believe my clients are the experts of their own story. I work to collaborate with my clients on ways to approach their issues from a place of empathy and compassion. I emphasize my clients’ strengths and uncover areas in which they may not be able to see their skills being used. Send me a message to schedule a free 15-minute consultation to see if I would be a good fit for your therapeutic journey.

  • One-on-one 50-minute sessions, available online or in person.

  • Two-on-one 50-minute sessions, available online or in person. Longer sessions and sessions for polyamorous couples are also available.

  • After a consultation session, letter writing is available for individuals seeking hormone replacement therapy or gender-affirming surgery.

  • Short-term and specific goal-oriented life coaching is available online.

 FAQs

  • The 15-minute consultation call is our first opportunity to get to know each other. During this call, I will ask for a general overview of why you are seeking psychotherapy, give you a brief description of myself, how I like to run sessions, and my approach. After that, I will open up space for you to address any concerns you may have to ensure we would be a good fit together. The relationship you have with your therapist is highly important and you have a right to receive a high standard of care. In the event that you feel I am not the right therapist for you, I will be more than happy to provide you with referrals to other clinicians who may be better able to help you.

  • After the initial phone consultation, I will ask you to fill out intake paperwork. This paperwork will go over information about yourself, your consent to treatment, and your rights to confidentiality. During our first session, I will ask more in-depth questions about your life and the information you provided in the intake paperwork to better understand you. These topics may include your family and medical history, your reasons for seeking psychotherapy, your usage of any substances, and your social relationships. Additionally, I will leave space for you to mention anything you feel may be important for me to know about you to better assess where you are at and collaborate with you to determine your goals for therapy.

  • I do not currently accept insurance. I made this decision so that I am better able to protect my client’s personal and confidential information. Working with insurance companies requires that I provide them with a medical diagnosis to explain why you as the client have the right to coverage for psychotherapy under their policies. Additionally, working with insurance companies can put restraints on the number of sessions we may have together or the modes of therapy I am able to use.

If you have insurance through a PPO, they may pay for therapy sessions with an out-of-network (OON) provider such as myself. If so, I will provide you with a monthly statement that you can present to them for reimbursement (or to apply to your annual deductible). If they do not cover the full cost of the services with which I provide you, you will be responsible for any balance due to me.

  • I offer a limited amount of sliding scale slots for low-income clients in order to accommodate a wider range of needs. Please inquire regarding fees and availability. Please note this is not considered a permanent fee reduction and I reserve the right to increase fees at a future date with adequate notice so that you can make informed decisions about your continued care.

  • 24-Hour Notice: I kindly request that you provide me with at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows me to offer your appointment slot to another client in need of my services.

Late Cancellations or No-Shows: If you cancel your appointment with less than 24 hours' notice or do not show up for your scheduled session, you will be charged the full session fee.

Emergencies: I understand that emergencies and unforeseen circumstances can arise that may conflict with your scheduled sessions. In such cases, please get in touch with me directly so that I can accommodate your needs.
